Chapters 4-6

Huck finds something important in the woods and goes to tell judge Thatcher. He gets some money from the judge and sells his fortune. Huck wants to know what his father is up to since it was his tracks he saw in the woods. His pap was waiting for him when he got home. He was mad at Huck for being the first one to learn to read. He asked Huck where the money was and didn't believe Huck when he said he sold it. Widow Douglass and the judge try to take custody over Huck but the court won't separate a father and son. One day his pap kidnaps him and takes him to a cabin.
"I think that the court should have let the widow and judge take custody of Huck. His pap is obviously not stable enough to raise his son. He's a crazy man!!! Huck did the right thing by giving the money away. If his pap had it, that could have been bad."

Chapters 1-3

Huckleberry Fin seems like an adventurous boy. He doesn't want anything to do with his father, and doesn't know whether or not to believe in God. He has a friends named Tom and Jim. They are all in a gang together. Huck lives with Miss Watson and Widow Douglass. They try to teach Huck about God but he is hopelessly confused and gives up on it. Eventually Huck quits Tom's gang because it's boring.
I think Huck shouldn't spend too much time with Tom, since Tom seems like a liar and not that great of an influence. I think Huck is smart to be hiding from his father! If his dad is beating him and always gets drunk Huck has a good reason to hide.
